Break-in

LAURINBURG — Officers responded to the Laurinburg TV Center on Cronly Street on Friday after hearing alarms in the area. Officers found that the window had been damaged and the owners found only a 55-inch TV valued at $200 taken.

GIBSON— A resident of Fletcher Street reported to the sheriff’s office on Friday that unknown persons had forcibly entered two buildings and took several items. The items included two five gallon plastic gas cans and a large crowbar totalling $70.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Cedar Lane reported to the sheriff’s office on Sunday that someone had broken into the home and stole a black AR-15 and 100-round drum totaling $650.

GIBSON — A resident of Main Street reported to the sheriff’s office on Sunday that unknown persons had broken in by breaking the front door glass and stole several items. The items included a red moped and assorted hairdryers, curling irons, and flat irons valued at $1,500.

LAURINBURG — The Pizza Hut on South Main Street reported to the police department on Sunday that someone had tried to enter the business through the front door causing $200 damage, the suspect ended up entering through the drive-thru window. There was also damage to a telephone box, file cabinet, and a safe. The suspect had attempted to use a blow torch to melt the handle of the safe.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Turnpike Road reported to the police department that someone had caused $100 damage to a shed door to gain entry and stole a $1,500 gas go-kart.

Larceny

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Old Wire Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Friday that a package containing a heat press machine valued at $210 was not delivered to her home.

LAURINBURG — Enterprise Holding located on Gibson Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Friday that unknown persons had stolen a Ford F250 along with $500 in handtools.

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Crawford Lake Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Saturday that someone had stolen firearms from the residence. The weapons include a Ruger revolver, a Reminton pistol, three Smith and Wesson revolvers, two unknown make revolvers, three unknown make powder revolvers, a Remington magazine and a Ruger barrel totaling $4,200.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Williams Street reported to the police department on Sunday that unknown persons had stolen a Fed-Ex package containing $302 of clothes from his front porch.

Shooting

LAURINBURG — Police responded to the area of Tarra Drive and Butler Street after reports of a shooting Friday. An incident between a 19-year-old male from North Gill Street, a 22-year-old male and 25-year-old woman, both of Red Springs, led to shots fired. The 19-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the leg while the vehicle being driven by the male of Red Springs had bullet holes in it. Police are currently investigating the inccident to see what exactly happened and who instigated the shooting.

GIBSON — A resident of Smith Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Saturday that someone had shot at the residence and shot out the back window of their vehicle.

Indecent exposure

LAURINBURG — A resident of Hamlet reported to the police department on Friday that while visiting her mother on Hall Street an unknown black male knocked on the back door and asked for a lighter. When she stepped out to give it to him he pulled his pants down exposing his genitals to her. The victim contacted 911. The male was unable to be located but it is under investigation.

Robbery

GIBSON — A man reported to the sheriff’s office on Friday that while walking on Francis Street several males came up to him and robbed him of $250. There is are suspects in the case.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Stephanie Strickland, 45, of Lumberton was arrested at the Scotland Inn Friday for failure to appear warrants. She was given a $100 bond.

LAURINBURG — Livia White, 46, of Perks Street was arrested Friday for cyber-stalking. She was released on a written promise to appear.

LAURINBURG — Tyler Cates, 26, who told officers he was homeless was arrested Saturday for assault on a female and domestic criminal trespassing. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Michael Goodwin, 24, of Gibson Road was arrested Saturday for an order for arrest for probation violation, criminal trespassing and injury to personal property. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Tyquan Ellerbee, 30, of Covenant Way was arrested Sunday for assault on a female. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Steven Scott, 50, of Fourth Street was arrested Sunday for an order for arrest for failure to appear. He was given a $100 bond.
