LAURINBURG —The Scotland High softball team was defeated by the East Columbus Gators, 21-5, in Round 2 of the Robeson County Slugfest Tournament on Monday.
Scotland struggled to contain the Gators’ offensive surge, allowing six runs in the first inning, one in the second and a staggering 14 in the third. The Scots were outhit by the Gators, 11 to 3, and committed four errors in the field.
The Scots will face St. Pauls on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
