W. Curt Vincent started as the editor of the Laurinburg Exchange in July 2018.

During his 37-year newspaper career, Vincent has worked in New York, New Jersey, Indiana, Texas and Georgia in positions ranging from stringer to reporter to editor and publisher — primarily with small dailies and community weekly newspapers, where he has earned numerous writing and page design awards.

“I’m looking forward to the challenges here in Scotland County, where there is a rich history, a lot of terrific people and, of course, one of the top football teams in the state,” Vincent said. “There is a lot of work to do, but I’m hoping we can form a strong partnership with the community that will make us all successful.”

Celeste Jackson - Classifieds/Legal Advertising

Jackson is a Laurinburg native and a Scotland High School graduate. Her current position is the classifieds and legal advertising consultant after returning to the Exchange in January.

About Amy Johnson:

Johnson is a native of Laurinburg and has been with the Laurinburg Exchange since 2014. Her current position is as an Advertising Representative. Her job is to present local retailers with options and advantages of advertising in The Laurinburg Exchange both online and in print.

About Jennifer Shawn Seaman-Robinson:

Seaman-Robinson was raised in Hamlet and has enjoyed living in Hope Mills. She just moved back home from Jacksonvile, Fla. where she enjoyed living on a sailboat on the St. John’s River. She is an artist and photographer as well as a veteran in the marketing field.

Her current position is an marketing sales representative after joining the Exchange in April.

Amber Hatten-Staley - Sports editor

About Amber Hatten-Staley:

Hatten-Staley is from Wheelersburg, Ohio and joined the Exchange staff in June 2016 after relocating to the area. She is a 2012 graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

She works as the Exchange's sports editor and also covers the Scotland County Board of Education.

“Over the past two years I've really enjoyed getting to know the coaches and student athletes that I cover. They welcomed me into the community and make me look forward to coming to work,” Hatten-Staley said.
