Hasty Realty-Laurinburg After 5 goes virtual

LAURINBURG — Due to limits on mass gatherings, this year’s Hasty Realty-Laurinburg After 5 will be live-streamed on Facebook and Youtube.

The virtual concert series will begin on Friday with consecutive Friday night concerts through Aug. 28. The start time for each concert will be at 6:30 p.m.

The entire series will be live-streamed on the Laurinburg After 5 and the Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook pages, as well as each participating band’s Facebook pages.

“We regret that we will not be able to host the Hasty Realty-Laurinburg After 5 in downtown Laurinburg this year, but for obvious safety reasons, we have decided to go virtual,” said Guy McCook, owner of Hasty Realty. “I was inspired to do virtual concerts after seeing several, quality live concerts that have been live-streamed during the pandemic.

“These shows will be entertaining and we are encouraging our Laurinburg After 5 fans and followers to get involved and help us promote these concerts by sharing the event dates and live streams,” he added.

Individuals who share the live feed or the Scheduled Event Listing will be entered into a $100 Chamber Gift Certificate Raffle. Another twist to the Hasty Realty-Laurinburg After 5 is a competition for an area artist to audition to perform for the final, Aug, 28 concert of the year.

“Over the years we have had requests from fans recommending local bands to play LA5 — here is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent in our area,” stated Chris English, executive director of the Chamber.
