Two people, an unnamed male and female, were taken to hospitals after a crash on NC 79 S and US 74. The car veered over the right side of the road into a deep embankment where first responders had to use rope and ladders to retrieve them. Highway Patrolman First Sargeant R.G. Hogue stated that for now, the two have no life treating injuries. One person was airlifted by helicopter to an undisclosed hospital and the other by ambulance.
