LAURINBURG — A Fayetteville man is in jail in Scotland County after being picked up in Cumberland County on charges of statutory rape involving a child.
According to a post Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Treyvon Dontrice McNeill, 19, of 412 Minnow Court, Fayetteville was arrested by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 9 and taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center and held under a $400 secured bond.
He was transferred to Scotland County Detention Center last week and charged with two counts of statutory rape of a child, one count of statutory sex offense of a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child.
According to the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, a complaint against McNeill was first filed in March 2013.
McNeill was given a $400,000 secured bond out of Scotland County, according to Capt. Mitch Johnson from the sheriff’s office.
