MONROE — The Scotland Christian Academy Saints baseball team (5-0) defeated the Tabernacle Christian Ram (3-2) Tuesday evening 17-6 in five innings.

Senior Russell Thompson went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, senior Carston Cline finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, junior Caden Wong closed 1-for-3 and scored three times, and freshman Peyton Smith ended 1-for-2 and scored three times.

Junior starter Jacob Sampson pitched 4 1/3 innings for the win. Thompson finished the game on the bump, allowing no scores in 2/3 innings.

The Saints host Oak Hill Christian Friday in a doubleheader.
