SCA soccer and volleyball teams earn wins

SCA soccer team continues strong start

The Scotland Christian Academy boys soccer team on Friday improved its record to 4-1 with a win over Liberty Christian Academy of Fayetteville.

The Saints now have sole possession of first place in the Carolinas Christian Athletic Association.

Senior Matt Williams and sophomore Micah Dean both scored one goal for the Saints.

SCA will play at home on Tuesday against Columbus Christian Academy of Whiteville.

Varsity volleyball team gets pair of wins

The SCA varsity volleyball team won two of its three matches last week to improve its record to 3-4 on the season.

The varsity team defeated Grace Christian School 3-2 (26-24, 16-25, 20-25, 25-20, 16-14) last Monday.

MacKenzie Harrell had 18 service points for the Saints. Lindsey Newton added 15 service points.

SCA’s jayvee volleyball team also topped Grace Christian School. Morgan McMillan had 18 service points to help the Saints win 2-1 (20-25, 25-17, 28-26).

In a game last Tuesday against Antioch Christian Academy, the Saints’ varsity team won 3-1 (26-24, 12-25, 25-17, 25-22). Bethany Jacobs and Newton both had 13 service points for the Saints.

The jayvee Saints defeated Antioch 2-0 (25-11, 25-13). McMillan had 13 service points for the Saints.

SCA hosted Liberty Christian Academy on Friday in the final game of the week.

The varsity Saints lost 3-0 (19-25, 19-25, 19-25). Newton led the hosts with 22 service points.

The jayvee volleyball team defeated Liberty 2-1 (22-25, 25-13, 15-12).

SCA’s varsity volleyball team will host Columbus Christian Academy on Tuesday.
