LAURINBURG — First Bank’s Michael Clark will be taking over as the new city executive in Laurinburg/Scotland County after serving the local banking community for many years.

This change comes as Mike Vinson, the former area executive at First Bank, moves into a portfolio manager role to continue providing service to existing clients in Laurinburg.

“Even though I am moving into a new role, I am excited to be able to remain a part of the First Bank team,” Vinson said. “These changes will benefit clients both new and existing, as well as, businesses who are joining our banking family every day. We have an experienced staff who have provided exceptional services to this community for many years and Michael is a proven leader who will help us to continue that legacy for many years to come.”

Clark is a familiar face around town as he and his wife, Hope, have lived in Scotland County for nearly five decades. In the past, he’s served as a board member on the Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce. Clark is currently a member of both the Scotland Health Care System Finance Committee and the Laurinburg Optimist Club.

“This is a great opportunity and I am thankful to be able to continue serving the businesses and citizens of Scotland County in this new role,” Clark said. “Having lived in this area for some time, I recognize the needs of the community and the importance of having a trusted relationship with a bank who is able to provide products and solutions that fit current needs. Mike has been a great leader for our First Bank team and in our community for 26 years and although he is in a new role, we are thankful he will continue to be a part of the Laurinburg First Bank team.”
