LAURINBURG — On Tuesday, freshman Michael McLean was awarded NCSportPage Freshman of the Year.
McLean capped his freshman season with 1,247 rushing yards, 24 rushing touchdowns, an average of 103.9 yards per game, 6.6 yards per carry, 117 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
McLean can now add this to the many accomplishments he acquired as a freshman at Scotland High School, including receiving a scholarship from North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a First-Team Freshman All-State selection and the school record for most touchdowns in a single game.
