LAURINBURG — A Verizon sales associate was surprised with a “#1 Rep in the District” trophy at the Verizon store in Laurinburg on Thursday.
District Manager Mike Ventura and Store Manager Ginger Cousins presented the award to Josh Dixon for selling the most of all associates in eight stores.
“I feel great, I worked hard for it,” said Dixon.
Cousins stated that Dixon was a store manager before and transferred to Laurinburg because he wanted to get back into sales.
“I am very proud, he is also No. 1 in the region, and that includes 1,500 stores,” said Cousins. “He smiles and likes to laugh, customers like that. He always tries to come up with something comical to make people smile.”
Dixon shared that the secret to his success was focusing on the customers.
“The secret is showing respect to the customer instead of pushing products on them,” said Dixon. “Get personal and also thank them for coming in.”
She stated that the Laurinburg location makes more sales than Charlotte and Raleigh.
“I really want to thank our loyal customers over the 25 years, we try to keep a good atmosphere here,” added Cousins.
She said that every now and then a customer may leave and then they come back.
“One may say, ‘I can save 25 bucks’ and switch but when they can not get a call out they return again,” said Cousins. “We have the best service.”
Cousins stated that Verizon will soon be the first cellular company to expand to 5G and thinks her team is topnotch in customer service.
“It is a team effort, we try to help everyone in the store,” added Cousins.
The trophy Dixon received also had his mantra engraved on it: LET’S EAT!
“I always say that, it means let’s make this money,” said Dixon.
