Golf team finishes in 4th place at SAC match

FAYETTEVILLE — Scotland’s boys golf team finished in fourth place out of seven teams in a Sandhills Athletic Conference match on Tuesday at Gates Four Golf Club.

Seniors Nick Thompson and Mason High both carded an 83 to pace the Fighting Scots. Andrew Hartwell shot an 88, Ian Smith carded a 103, Conner Bert shot a 106 and Marcus Godwin turned in a final score of 110 for the Scots, who had a team score of 357.

Lumberton was the only team to improve on its score from the conference’s season-opening meet at Bayonet in Raeford.
