LAURINBURG – Two weekend traffic stops led to four arrests for drugs, weapons violations and outstanding warrants, according to police.

On Friday, officers conducting surveillance at Greenfield Apartments on Turnpike Road stopped a car for suspicious activity. A search turned up individually wrapped bags of MDMA − and other drugs, according to Assistant Police Chief Cliff Sessoms.

Darryl Erwin McLean, 24, of Washington Street, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV drug, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and delay and obstruct an officer. McLean, did not receive bond.

On Sunday, three men were arrested for weapons charges and assault when police conducted a traffic stop on Samoa Street.

Meco Monroe, 22, of Horne Road was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed weapon and given a $1,000 according to Sessoms.

Maurice Deangelo Bostic, 20, of Fairmont Street, was discovered to have an outstanding warrant for simple assault. Bostic received a $1,000 bond.

Alan Gunter, 23, of Fairmont Street also had an outstanding warrant for simple assault and received a $1,000 secured bond.
