LAURINBURG — Four people found themselves in jail Tuesday after Laurinburg police officers were involved in two separate drug cases.
The first incident occurredwhen officer conducted a traffic stop on Business 74 for fictitious plates. The officer noticed a smell of marijuana and conducted a search of the vehicle. That search revealed 66 opioid pills and an ounce of crack cocaine.
The driver, 34-year-old Crystal Primus of Farm Pond Lane, Charlotte, and 21-year-old passenger Emmanuel Collins of Cressingham Court, Charlotte, were both charged with two counts of possession of Schedule II substances and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were given a $20,000 bond.
The third passenger, 19-year-old Wayne Graham Jr., also of Cressingham Court, was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $10,000 bond.
In the separate incident on Tuesday, police officers responded to Midland Way for a narcotics complaint call. Officers entered the residence and located drug paraphernalia. Officers obtained a search warrant and, during the search, located 47 grams of crack cocaine.
Mitchell Smith, 41, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell, manufacture and distribute cocaine, trafficking cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for drug sells and three counts of drug paraphernalia.
He was given a $200,000 bond.
