LAURINBURG — A Fayetteville man has been arrested and faces charges in connection with a robbery that occurred on Saturday.
According to the Laurinburg Police Department, William Baker, 41, of Fayetteville, was arrested and charged with common law robbery, breaking or entering a motor vehicle, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Police say a resident of Aberdeen Road reported to LPD that a Black male punched him and took the keys to his 2005 BMW. The suspect then stole the vehicle from the public vehicle area of Joe’s Kwik Mart.
An investigation revealed the suspect to be Baker, according to the LPD. Baker was apprehended in Fayetteville a few hours later, and the 2005 BMW was recovered.
