LAURINBURG — A Braveheart Medical Transport ambulance that was carrying a patient was in an accident with another car early on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report by Laurinburg police, the ambulance was traveling east on Hwy. 74 Business near Scotland High School when a 2004 Lincoln driven by 91-year-old Evadean Deaton of Laurinburg pulled out in front of it.

The ambulance was forced off the road to the right of the car, sideswiping the car and ended up striking a street sign.

According to the report, no one was injured from the accident. Deaton was found to be at fault for the accident and was given a citation for failing to see before turning.

The ambulance sustained $3,500 damage, while the Lincoln sustained $1,500 damage.

Attempts to reach Braveheart Medical Transport, Inc. were not immediately successful.
