Lady Scots golf competes in Sanford

The Scotland women’s golf team played nine holes at Sanford Golf Course Monday in their third Sandhills Athletic Conference meet.

The Lady Scots finished the day in fourth place — the same result they had in their first two meets — with a team score of 157, earning three points. Pinecrest came in first and earned six points, Union Pines placed second and took five points, Lee County finished third and got four points, and Southern Lee was fifth and received one point. Hoke County has not received any team points this season due to not having enough golfers present to qualify.

Claire Smith shot a 43 for Scotland, Sherrina Smith had a 55, Karli Jacques finished with a 59, and Addison Pittman was one stroke short of tying Jacques with a 60.

Next week’s SAC meet at Bayonet at Puppy Creek Golf Course in Raeford has been rescheduled for Oct. 11 and will be played at Pinehurst No. 6; the next meet is 18 holes scheduled for Oct. 9 at Whispering Pines Golf Course.
