ROCKWELL — The No. 3E Scotland Christian Academy Saints baseball team (10-1) won 18-0 in three innings over the No. 2W Rockwell Christian Chargers (2-7) in the quarterfinals of the North Carolina Christian School Association’s 1A state tournament Monday night.

Junior pitcher Jacob Sampson earned the win, pitching two shutout innings with three strikeouts; junior Caeden Wong pitched the final inning with two strikeouts.

Senior Carston Cline went 2-for-3 at the bag with a double and single, tallied four RBI, and scored a run. Senior Russell Thomson finished 3-for-4 at the plate with three singles, two RBI, and two runs scored.

The Saints play in the semifinals at No. 1E Sheets Memorial Christian on Thursday at 7 p.m.
