JACKSON SPRINGS — Scotland’s boys golf team finished in third place out of seven teams in a Sandhills Athletic Conference match on Monday at Foxfire Golf and Country Club.
Mason High carded an 80 to lead the Fighting Scots. Nick Thompson finished with an 83, Andrew Hartwell logged a 91, Ian Smith had a 93, Grayson Smith shot a 105 and Walter Bounds carded a 114 for the Scots.
Pinecrest (287) took first place as a team. The Patriots were followed by runner-up Jack Britt (327), Scotland (347), Purnell Swett (351), Richmond (356), Hoke (387) and Lumberton (519). Seventy-First did not have enough golfers to compete as a team.
