LAURINBURG — Scotland High’s varsity basketball teams will compete in the Sandhills Athletic Conference tournament this week. The boys basketball team, which finished the regular season in a tie for fifth place in the conference, enters the tournament as the No. 7 seed and will play at Pinecrest on Monday at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Lady Scots, who are also the No. 7 seed in their bracket, will play at Lumberton at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

If Scotland’s boys win on Tuesday, they will be on the road on Wednesday against the winner of No. 3 Richmond and No. 6 Jack Britt. If the Lady Scots win on Tuesday, they will be on the road on Thursday against the winner of No. 3 Seventy-First and No. 6 Hoke.

The championship contenders with the highest seeds will host the title games on Friday at 7 p.m. That time is the same for the boys and girls games. If both championship games are held at the same site, the girls will play at 6 p.m. and the boys will play at 7:30.
