Parks and Rec set for fall sports sign-ups

LAURINBURG — Scotland County Parks and Recreation will host football, soccer and cheerleading registration at the end of the month.

Early sign-ups are set for July 27 to Aug. 1 and will cost $15, and late registration will take place Aug. 3-7 and cost $20.

Kids between ages 7-12 may sign up for football and cheerleading, and soccer is for participants ages 4-13.

Signups will be held at Parks & Rec and the Wagram Recreation Center.

Wagram Recreation Center offering girls volleyball leagues

WAGRAM — The Wagram Recreation Center will host volleyball leagues for fifth- and sixth-grade girls beginning in the fall.

Early registration, at a price of $15, will take place from July 27 to Aug. 3. Late registration is set for Aug. 5-9 with a cost of $20.

St. Andrews continues to host camps

LAURINBURG — St. Andrews University continues to host various athletic camps, clinics, and lessons at the school this summer.

St. Andrews softball coach Elizabeth Burris is leading softball lessons twice a week beginning at 6 p.m. The lessons will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays and cost $20.

A softball hitting clinic, also hosted by Burris, is set to take place Monday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Basketball

First-year St. Andrews men’s basketball coach Randy Hernandez is hosting a clinic set to begin July 27 and end July 29 for kids ages 7-17.

Early registration will cost $75 and the door cost is $85.

Soccer

Soccer coach Stevan Hernandez will host a second soccer camp in August.

The session will be August 10-13. Half-day camps will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and cost $55 while full-day camps, with a cost of $110, will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include lunch. Both camps are for kids ages 4-15 and each player will receive a camp T-shirt as well.
