Such an unexpected surprise and show of kindness this (Friday) morning at 11:15 a.m. Heard repeated knocking on door, assuming it was one of my neighbors wanting me to do something for them. Was surprised to see a young woman who was giving out lunches in Styrofoam plates. I said “Why thank you!” She responded “God bless you” and I replied in kind.
A cute girl of 3 or 4 lingered in the hallway. I said “Hello Pretty Girl!” She waved and her Mom told her to say hello. Thought later of sunshine outside and inside also.
I suppose this was the same group that had done it once before, called “Women with a Purpose” I think. So grateful for this show of compassion during these difficult days. Since all the residents of my small apartment community are 55 or older or on disability, and quite a few have serious health issues I know this special act brightened many a day and weekend here. It certainly did mine, especially seeing young people doing it and showing good examples to the generation after them, giving one ongoing hope for America.
I am grateful to this group and whatever church or group they are affiliated with. As a person of faith, those special words “God Bless You” carry a lot of spiritual weight. Thank You, Lord.
