Chase
LAURINBURG – Police attempted to stop a car for a seatbelt violation on Roosevelt Street, and the driver fled leading officers on a 10-minute chase before stopping, the report said. Donte Nicholson, 24, of Stewartsville Road, was charged with fleeing to elude arrest, aggressive driving, driving while license revoked, DWI, seatbelt violations and stop sign violations, and given a $15,000 secured bond, according to police.
Larceny
LAURINBURG – A resident of Gill Street reported to police on Sunday that someone stole a black Avon bag containing tattoo equipment and medication total value $160.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Turnpike Road reported that his 2007 Cadillac was stolen from a residence on Jackson Street on Sunday when he left the motor running in the driveway.
The car was later found in McColl, SC on Oak Hill Road and US 401.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Clio, SC reported to police on Friday that he left his cellphone valued at $600 plugged to charger at Waffle House, and when he returned it was gone.
Break in
LAURINBURG – Police responded to a call for a break in at an apartment on Carver Street and discovered Rashawn Dudley, 21, of Carver Street in the residence. Dudley was charged with breaking and entering and delay and obstruct an officer and given a $12,000 secured bond.
LAURINBURG – A resident of North Pine Villa Drive reported to police on Thursday that someone broke into a storage building and stole a riding mower valued at $700.
Robbery
LAURINBURG – A resident of Asheville Street reported to police on Saturday that a woman approached his home on Friday and asked for a drink of water. When the man returned with the water, the woman asked for money. When he refused, the woman grabbed his pockets, ripped his pants and took his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash and his keys.
LAURINBURG – Police responded to a call of an unconscious person near the railroad tracks on North Caledonia Road. The man, a resident of 10th Street in East Laurinburg, told police that someone approached him from behind, hit him on the head and took his money. The victim was transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital; his condition was unknown at press time.
Vandalism
LAURINBURG – A resident of Hall Street reported to police on Sunday that someone damaged the door frame to the residence leaving $100 in damages.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Pitt Street reported to police on Sunday that someone cut two tires on her 2003 Ford Taurus leaving $200 in damages.
LAURINBURG – Employees of Braveheart Medical Transport on John’s Road reported to police on Friday that someone shot at the building leaving $300 in damages.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Gulf Street reported to police on Friday that someone scratched the paint on his 2004 Nissan leaving $1,500 in damages.
Arrests
LAURINBURG – Jamar McDonald, 20, of Alpha Street, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assaulting a handicapped person issued in Maxton. McDonald received a $250,000 secured bond, according to police.
LAURINBURG – Paul Borrone, 54, of Laurinburg, was charged with concealed carry violations for public drunkenness. No bond information was available, according to police.
LAURINBURG – Dashawn Shaw, 23, of Market Street, was charged with larceny at Walmart and given a $2,000 secured bond, according to police.
LAURINBURG – Ronald Mishue, 18, of Nashville Church Road, was charged with injury to real property and given a $1,000 bond, according to police.
LAURINBURG – Jerome King, 61, of Laurel Hill, was charged with assault by pointing a gun and given a written promise to appear, according to police.
LAURINBURG – Edward Charles Steele, 27, of Douglas Street, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for narcotics violations and given a $1,000 unsecured bond, according to police.
