LAURINBURG – Christopher Patterson, 30, of Queensdale Street was cited during a traffic stop for simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, revoked registration, and inspection violations.

LAURINBURG – Spencer Lauren McAfee, 22, of Applegate Road in Charlotte was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Clayton Caulder, 25, of Hurley Drive was also cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

LAURINBURG – Sheldon McDougald, 43, of Holly Drive in Ellerbe was cited during a traffic stop for simple possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, equipment violations, and driving while license revoked.

DWI

LAURINBURG –Police said they have charged Joseph McCallum, 35, of Old Maxton Road, with driving while impaired after collision on Stewartsville Road on Saturday. McCallum had driven the car into a ditch, police said. He received a custody release.

LAURINBURG – George Thomas Goins Jr., 36, of First Street was arrested for driving while impaired for a collision at Rob’s Convenience store on South Caledonia Road, police said. Goins’vehicle had collided with a parked car, according to police. He received a custody release.

Larceny

LAURINBURG – An employee of Murphy USA on US 401 South reported to police on Saturday that a man approached the counter and asked for two cartons of cigarettes. He ran off with the first two cartons after the clerk turned to get a third carton. The man got into a blue Dodge Neon driven by a woman.

LAURINBURG –Police said James Thomas Quick Jr., 50, of Roosevelt Street in McColl, S.C., was charged with shoplifting at Belk store. Quick was also wanted for theft from Lowe’s, Carlie C’s, and Food Lion. Quick was charged on three counts of misdemeanor larceny and one count of felony larceny and given a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Break in

LAURINBURG – A resident of Gordon Lake Drive reported to police that someone broke into her car while it was parked at the Holiday Inn Express on Plaza Drive and stole her purse containing jewelry, financial cards and ID cards valued $300.

LAURINBURG – A resident of Sneads Grove Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Friday that someone broke into the home and stole a generator valued at $548.

Shooting

WAGRAM – A resident of Driftwood Lane in Raeford reported to the sheriff’s office onSunday that someone shot at his vehicle following an altercation at Caddie Court. The 2008 Chevrolet Trail Blazer sustained $1,200 in damages.

Assault

LAURINBURG – Police responded to a call for a fight at Huddle House on US 401 on Saturday. Franklin Maxwell, 36, of Pendergrass Road in Raeford was arrested for simple assault and assault with a deadly weapon and given a $4,000 secured bond, according to police.

Arrests

LAURINBURG – Joshua Grooms, 29, of Lees Mill Road was arrested on charges of larceny and given a written promise to appear, according to police.

MARSTON – Tyus Jowan Terry, 20, Marston Road was arrested for misdemeanor assault on a child under 12. Terry was given a $2,500 secured bond, according to the sheriff’s office.

LAUREL HILL – Joshua P. Miller, 26, of Gibson Road was arrested on one count of misdemeanor larceny. Miller was given a written promise to appear, according to the sheriff’s office.
