LAURINBURG — As One-Stop Early Voting moves into its final week, Scotland County’s registered voters have cast a total of 7,121 ballots over the first 10 days.

According to information from the Scotland County Board of Elections, 620 ballots were cast on Friday and another 365 votes were cast on Saturday.

‘Things have gone very smoothly so far,” said BOE Executive director Dell Parker. “There have been some lines, but we’ve had no complaints.”

Early voting — as well as voter registration — will continue through Saturday.

Of those who have cast a ballot during One-Stop voting so far, a total of 3,954 have been Democrats; another 1,410 have been Republican; 1,741 have been unaffiliated; and 11 have been Libertarian.

Also, a total of 2,893 early voters have been black; another 3,399 have been white; 379 have been Native American — 3,970 have been female and 2,829 have been male.

During this third and final week, the One-Stop hours through Friday will remain 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday will be 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Early voting is being held at 231 E. Cronly St. in the Annex conference room.
