The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a heat advisory for Scotland County from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to reach 99 degree, with the heat index soaring into the 100s throughout the day.
If possible, stay indoors in air-conditioning. If necessary to be outdoors, be sure to remain hydrated regularly and wear light-colored clothing.
