The upcoming Christmas holiday weekend is bringing vacation days to many places, including schools and government offices.
Following are the closings around Scotland County:
— Scotland County Schools are already closed and will open on Jan. 2 for traditional students and Jan. 3 for SEarCH.
— County and municipal offices will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Essential personnel such as law enforcement, medical and a few others will be on hand.
— Trash pickup for the city will collect Monday and Tuesday’s routes on Thursday and pick up the rest on Friday.
— The county recycle center will be open Monday and Wednesday for normal business hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Swap Shop will not be open.
— The county landfill will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
— The U.S. Post Office will close at 2 p.m. on Monday and open back up on Wednesday.
— The Scotland County Memorial Library will be closed Saturday until Jan. 2.
— The Laurinburg Exchange will be open Monday regular business hours, closed Tuesday and reopen Wednesday.
