LAURINBURG — As of Wednesday at 6 p.m., Scotland Memorial Hospital closed the front entrance to the hospital until further notice because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Patients and limited visitors are being asked to enter the facilities, after screening, at the outpatient entrance, Scotland Cancer Treatment Center or the Emergency Department.
All patients, visitors and staff will continue to be screened prior to entering Scotland Memorial Hospital. Anyone dropping off items to patients are asked to use the outpatient entrance.
A press release from Scotland Health Care System stated that the hospital staff remains committed to limiting the spread of the virus and the following restrictions are still in effect:
— No visitors will be allowed into Scotland Memorial Hospital except under extremely limited circumstances.
— Patients in the provider practices are only allowed one visitor in the building during the visit.
— All visitors will be screened and not permitted to enter if experiencing respiratory or flu-like symptoms.
— The hospital’s cafeteria and gift shop will not be open to the general public.
