LAURINBURG − The Community Empowerment Family Outreach Committee is looking for partners in the community to help address the needs of area youth.
The group hopes to work with clergy and community leaders to create a wraparound approach to that will bring about positive change in the lives of young people in the area.
The Community Empowerment Family Outreach Committee, is looking for partners that will join their efforts to “make a difference in our communities,” and believes “there is strength in numbers and power in unity, which brings about results.”
The group believes change can be mad through mentoring, educational programs, counseling, and sports activities.
The committee will hold its second meeting of the year of Feb. 16 at Bright Hopewell Baptist Church at 5:30 p.m. The topic is Empowering Youth and Their Families in our Communities.
The Community Empowerment Family Outreach Committee’s goal is to enhance the complete development of youth and families and develop future leaders.
