LAURINBURG — The man wanted for the Friday night shooting of a Laurinburg man on Bizzell Street has been arrested.

According to information from the Laurinburg Police Department, Cliff Andrew McLean, 37, was arrested Tuesday in connection to the shooting which left a 30-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his left thigh and upper back. The victim had to be air-lifted to a hospital out of county and his wounds were initially considered to be life-threatening, though he is was in stable condition as of Monday.

McLean is charged with attempted first-degree murder, discharge of a firearm in the city limits, discharge of a firearm from an enclosure, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He wasn’t given a bond.

On top of those charges, he was give additional charges for felony probation violation, assault on a child under 12 and communicating threats. For those he was given a $2,500 bond.

McLean was located by Scotland County Probation and Parole.
