WAGRAM — Residents in Wagram, as well as surrounding areas, have something to look forward to as a new restaurant prepares for its grand opening on Saturday.
“We are excited to have our grand opening,” said the owner of Midway Cafe’, Mia Williams. “In our building, there will be a restaurant, convenience store, gas and groceries.
“My husband and I are first-time restaurant owners. I’ve been in the cleaning industry for the past 15 years,” continued Williams. “We have talked about opening one for some time now. We were looking for a building to continue our ministry and, when we saw the kitchen, we decided it was time to move forward with our restaurant.”
The grand opening will be on Saturday from noon until 5 p.m.
“We plan to have a DJ and some giveaways,” said Williams. “We will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner once we are open. Our lunch menu will be items such as wings, burgers and subs.
“During dinner, we will be offering options such as two types of meat and four sides or one meat with two sides,” continued Williams. “All of our dinners will come with bread and a drink. We will also offer a daily special.”
Smothered fried chicken and baked chicken are just two items that will be seen on William’s menu as well as sides such as cabbage and macaroni and cheese.
“To sum up our menu, you could say we will be serving country soul food,” said Williams.
The restaurant will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
“We plan to be open on Sundays, mainly for dinner, in the future,” said Williams. “However, for now, we are going to use that as a day to take a break while we adapt to the schedule.”
