LAURINBURG — A car chase led to one man’s arrest on Wednesday.
According to Lt. Jeremy White with the Laurinburg Police Department, officers attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 401 and Ford Drive for a stoplight violation.
The vehicle, which was later found to be driven by 40-year-old Eric Barfield of Shannon Drive, fled onto Scotland Crossing Drive, to West Boulevard before continuing onto X-Way Road then onto Hwy 381 into Gibson.
Barfield was caught and arrested later on West Church Street in Laurel Hill. He was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest and several traffic violations.
He was released on a custody release.
