LAURINBURG — One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
That is the basis for Scotland County Parks and Recreation community yard sale over the next three months.
The yard sales begin on April 28 at Scotland Place, followed by one at the Wagram Recreation Center on May 5, and at the Laurel Hill Community Center on June 2.
The first sale begins at 8 a.m. and ends at noon while vendor set up begins at 7 a.m.
“It gives people an opportunity to have a yard sale in a safe environment,” said Bryan Graham, county Parks and Recreation director. “We’ve already got people signed up and excited. We think it can be a cool event to have.”
The event is at the different locations so that residents from across the county have to opportunity to participate.
“We wanted to reach different communities to make it more convenient to the people who live in different areas of the county,” said Tammy Jacobs the office manager for parks and recreation.
Those who wish to sell items for the event are encouraged to call the Parks and Recreation number at 910-277-2585 and ask for Tammy. There is a fee for vendors. Proceeds aid recreational programming.
The deadline to register for the first event is April 26.
