WAGRAM — The second annual Zumbathon will be coming to the Wagram Recreation Center.

The Zumbathon will be April 28 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Proceeds charities devoted to research and providing resources to the parents of children with autism.

The event features Zumba being lead by Natasha Tomlinson, who teaches Saturday Zumba at the recreationcenter. There will also be four other guest instructors during the event.

Besides Zumba, there will be door prizes .

Last year, the event attracted about 40 people come out and raised $500 for autism awareness. This year, organizers hope to raise $1,000.

“This event raises the funds to help children and families with autism,” said Kisha Williams, the recreation center supervisor. “April is also Autism Awareness Month so it’s good to have something that supports that.”

Those who wish to participate can purchase tickets at the door and are encouraged to wear blue to support autism awareness.
