Feb. 23

— Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church will be celebrating its “Deacon and Deaconess Program” at 3 p.m. The Rev. Kenneth Johnson and First Lady Minister Roxanne Johnson of Laurel Hill First Baptist Church will bring the message along with choir and congregation. We are asking that the deacon and deaconess from your church come join us on this exciting occasion.

— Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church will host an Old-Fashioned Sunday program during the morning service at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited and urged to dress in old-fashioned clothing. A meal will be served after the service.

— Franklin Chapel AME Zion Church will host fellowship service at 4 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Sharon Mitchell of St. James AME Zion Church in Red Springs.

— Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church Women’s Ministry will be sponsoring a Women in Red Program at 3 p.m. Evangelist Mary Ellis of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

— “A Tribute to A Legend Gospel Explosion” will be held at 4 p.m. at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Several groups are con the program and everyone is invited to come.

Feb. 25

— Trinity Presbyterian Church, 13000 Blues Farm Road in Laurinburg, will hold a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be pancakes, sausage and drink — all for $6 per plate or $10 for two. Eat in or carry out.

— St. David’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Parish Hall, located on the corner of Covington Street and Azure Court. Cost is $6 per person. Pancakes, sausage and baked apples will be served. Eat in or drive thru for take out. A beverage will be served if you eat in.

— Lutheran Church of the Living Word, 1925 S. Main St in Laurinburg, will hold an Ash Wednesday Communion Service at 7 p.m. All mid-week Lenten Services will be held Wednesdays, March 4 through April 1.

— Graham Temple Church of God in Christ, 501 R. Graham St. in Laurinburg, will host a Women’s Conference. The events will start at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 27-28; at 10 a.m. on March 1; and 4 p.m. on March 1.

— The Scotland County Ministerial Alliance will hold a Black History Celebration at 5 p.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church.
