— Church in the Pines will host a Community Easter Egg Hunt from 10 to 11 a.m. for ages 1 to 10. The church is located at 9621 Malloy Avenue in Laurel Hill.

April 14

— St. John UMC will host a Community Lenten Service at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

— Haven of Truth Church, 9380 Andrew Jackson Highway in Laurel Hill, will hold a “God’s 7-Up” program at 3 p.m. There will be seven guest speakers along with Laurel Hill First Baptist Church Mine Team. All are invited.

— Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 439 Stewartsville Road in Laurinburg, will hold an usher’s program at 3 p.m. All are invited.

— “Amazing Grace” is the theme of First Baptist Church’s Easter music worship service at 11 a.m. Featuring the Sanctuary Choir and accompanied by a 13-piece orchestra, anthems will include: “Palm Processional,” “Have You Been to Calvary,” “The Centurion’s Song,” “Lamb of God, Redeemer of the World,” (based on Beethoven’s Symphony Pathetique) “Wonderful Songs of Grace,” “Come, Come Unto Me,” the very popular praise and worship song, “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone,” and prolific composer Joseph Martin’s “We Are Your Church, O Christ.” Special selections will include Janice Creed, soprano, who will sing “Via Dolorosa’ and an ensemble performing “Though Your Sins Be as Scarlet.” Kari Ricks, flutist, will play “Grace Greater Than Our Sin” during the offertory. A brass quintet will also play Georg Friderich Handel’s “Air” and Johann Pezel’s “Sonata No. 3.” Narrators for the service are Senior Pastor Wayne D. Wike, Anne Todd, Bill Floyd, Betty Smith, and Susan Floyd. Local musicians in the orchestra are Jane McLaurin, Kari Ricks, Liz Hasty, Joanna Hersey and Joey Van Hassel. First Baptist is located at 302 E. Church St. in Laurinburg. All are invited and welcome to participate in this special Easter program.

— Scotland County Mineral Alliance will hold Holy Week services at Spring Branch Baptist Church in Wagram at 6 p.m.

— Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 11761 Johns Road in Laurinburg, will hold its 69th missionary anniversary at 3 p.m. Guest minister will be the Rev. John Could of First Baptist Church in Marston, along with his choir and congregation.

April 15

— Scotland County Mineral Alliance will hold Holy Week services at Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church in Laurinburg at 7 p.m.

April 16

— Scotland County Mineral Alliance will hold Holy Week services at Cedar Missionary Baptist Church in Gibson at 7 p.m.

April 17

— First United Methodist Church will have a Community Lenten Service at noon in the Fellowship Hall with guest speaker Rev. Linda Nelson from the Lutheran Church of the Living Word. A light lunch (i.e. soup and sandwich, chicken pot pie or baked potato bar, etc) will be available for those wishing to stay for a donation of $6. Everyone is invited.

— St. David’s Episcopal Church, 506 Azure Ct. in Laurinburg, will have a service of the Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m. Stations of the Cross, also called Way of the Cross, a series of 14 pictures or carvings portraying events in the Passion of Christ, from his condemnation by Pontius Pilate to his entombment.

— New Greater St. James Word, Praise and Worship Ministries will hold a Spring Revival at 7:30 p.m. each evening with Bishop Harry Lee.

April 18

— Lutheran Church of the Living Word, located at 1925 S. Main St. in Laurinburg, will hold Maundy Thursday with Holy Communion at 7 p.m.

— St. David’s Episcopal Church, 506 Azure Ct. in Laurinburg, will hold a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. Good Friday commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus. During this solemn service, we mourn for the death of Jesus and for our own sins.

— Scotland County Mineral Alliance will hold Holy Week services at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Laurinburg at 7 p.m.

— Greater Glory Kingdom Outreach Ministries, 9300 McFarland Road in Laurel Hill, will hold a Seven Sayings of Christ program at 7 p.m.

April 20

— Carolina New Life Church, 8461 Peeles’ Chapel Road in Laurel Hill, will host a Prayer Breakfast at 10 a.m. The speaker will be Elder Tabitha Burk of Eden International Ministries from Lumberton. A breakfast of will be provided. All are welcome.

— St. David’s Episcopal Church, 506 Azure Ct. in Laurinburg, will hold a Great Vigil of Easter service at 8 p.m. The Easter Vigil is called the “king of liturgies.” At first we light the new fire of Easter and move from darkness to light telling the ancient stories of God’s people. We proclaim the Easter message, Christ is Risen! Bring your tuneful bells.

April 21

— New St. John Holiness Church will have an Easter program immediately after the worship services.

— Zion-Campbell AME Church will have a host of Easter activities: A sunrise service at 6:30 a.m.; breakfast at 8 a.m.; Easter Egg Hunt at 12:30 p.m. with a pot luck dinner and hot dogs to follow. All are invited.

— Sneads Grove United Methodist and Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian churches will hold a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. at Monroe Camp and Retreat Center. Breakfast will be provided.

— Friendship One Accord Worldwide COG’s Youth Revival will be held at 7:30 p.m. each night.
