LAURINBURG — The St. Andrew Knights women’s soccer program made an addition to the team’s coaching staff on Wednesday morning. Ingryd Lima was named an assistant coach of the team under Head Coach Ebony Campbell.

Lima played the game collegiately for Iowa Wesleyan University. She made three starts in 11 games for the Tigers as a defender during her junior year in the 2022-23 season before the school had to close at the end of that academic year due to financial problems.

The team went 8-8 overall with a 2-3 record against other Continental Athletic Conference opponents. That was good enough to finish fifth in the standings that season.

The Knights will be entering their second year under Campbell in 2024 as they look to improve on last year’s 1-13-1 record. Their season opener is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24 at home in Laurinburg against Allen University at 3:30 p.m.
