SOUTHERN PINES — Scotland’s boys tennis team lost 7-2 at Pinecrest on Tuesday. In singles action, sophomore Nick Eury won 11-9 in a tiebreaker against James Ellman after the competitors split the first two sets (2-6, 6-4). Eury then teamed up with sophomore Drew Hamilton for a 9-7 win in a doubles matchup against Ellman and Willie Larose.

Here’s how the other singles matches went: Charlie Hodges, PC defeated Nate Dubbs, SC (7-5, 7-5); Will Bode, PC defeated Hunter Edkins, SC (7-5, 6-2); Will Blackwood, PC defeated Drew Monroe, SC (6-1, 6-2); Ethan Spain, PC defeated Nick Murphy, SC (6-0, 6-0); Willie Larose, PC defeated Drew Hamilton, SC (6-4, 6-3).

In the other two doubles matches, Pinecrest’s team of Charlie Hodges and Will Bode defeated Scotland’s Nate Dubbs and Hunter Edkins 8-4, and the Patriots got another win when the team of Will Blackwood and Ryan Grafenberg defeated Nick Murphy and Drew Monroe 8-6.

Scotland hosts Lumberton at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
