LAURINBURG — Scotland’s wrestling team defeated Hoke and lost to Pinecrest at home on Wednesday night.
Hoke’s Corbin Kumor defeated Scotland’s Nathan Joyner with a pin in the 132-pound class to give the Bucks a 12-6 lead over the Fighting Scots, but Scotland won the next three bouts by forfeit.
After Scotland forfeited the 160-pound bout, Jeremiah McRimmon defeated Hoke’s James Williams by fall at 170 pounds.
Hoke’s Ty Crudup then defeated Charles Wall by decision (11-4) at 182 pounds.
Michael Locklear earned a win for the Scots by pinning Bryson Fox in the 220-pound matchup, and Nathaniel Harrington got Scotland’s final win of the duel by pinning Ronnie Slate in the 285-pound bout.
Both teams forfeited at 195, 106 and 113 pounds, and Scotland won 42-21.
In Scotland’s duel against Pinecrest, the Patriots earned a 48-22 victory. Scotland’s Seth English (126 pounds), McRimmon (170 pounds), Wall (182 pounds), Locklear (220 pounds) and Harrington (285 pounds) picked up victories against Pinecrest.
Scotland will compete at the Bobby Abernathy Invitational hosted by Piedmont High School on Saturday.
