LAURINBURG — Carver and Spring Hill middle schools will be offering sports camps over the next several weeks. The camps are open to students in Scotland County.
The camps are free and will feature coaches and mentors from Carver and Spring Hill Middle schools along with Scotland High School.
The volleyball, wrestling, basketball camps will be held at Carver Middle School while the football camp will be held on the Scotland High School practice field.
July 30-Aug. 1
Carver girl’s basketball coaches Antoinette Diggs and Tyreeka Johnson will host a camp for girls in fourth through eighth grade from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. each day.
Carver head coach Roshein McClain and Spring Hill girls coach Ed Cain will host a camp for boys in fifth through eighth grade from 1 to 3 p.m. each day.
Libby Ingram, coach at Carver, will host volleyball camp from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Aug. 2 and Friday, Aug. 3 for girls in fifth through eighth grade.
Mitchell Johnson, state champion at Scotland High and conference champion at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and Benson Bell, Scotland High graduate and wrestler at Morgan State University, will host a wrestling camp for students in fifth through eighth grade from 1 to 3 p.m. each day.
Spring Hill head coach Ed Cain and Carver head coach Justin McLean along with Scotland High School defensive backs coach Dominquie Green, Next Level football training coach Bryan Dockery will host a one-day football camp on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Scotland High School practice field.
The camp will be for students in fourth through eighth grade and Scotland High School head coach Richard Bailey will serve as a special guest.
