LAURINBURG — Scotland County Parks and Recreation wrapped its first of three summer camps with a splash on Friday.
Sports was the theme of this week’s camp and the 12 campers got to experience a variety of sports-related activities.
Counselors Fiondra Baldwin and Gianna Bell, both 20, took the children bowling in Lumberton then to Fayetteville for Chuck E. Cheese, Lake Pines Swim Club, and Defy. Fayetteville before returning to Laurinburg on Friday to try and beat the heat at the Splash Pad.
All of the campers agreed that Defy. Fayetteville, a trampoline park that features a ninja obstacle course, zip line, foam pit and angled wall of trampolines, was their favorite activity of the week.
The full-day camps are for children ages six to 12 years old and will resume following the Fourth of July holiday.
July 9-13 with be outdoor camp. Campers will have the opportunity to go rocking climbing. The final week, July 16-20 will focus on arts and crafts.
