LAURINBURG — The St. Andrews University women’s lacrosse team continued their winning streak on Senior Day dominating conference foe Brenau University (Ga.) 19-1 over the weekend.

The Lady Knights are now 6-4 on the season and are riding a four-game win streak — their first since 2013.

After a scoreless first five minutes the Lady Knights got on the board scoring three goals before Brenau scored their only goal of the game in the 11th minute of play.

St. Andrews outscored the Tigers 9-0 the rest of the half to lead 12-1 at the break. The Lady Knights then scored seven unanswered goals in the second half to out shot the Lady Tigers 7-0 in the second half out shooting them, 49-5 for the game.

The Lady Knights won 14 of 20 draws led by five apiece from sophomore attackers Victoria Washington and Tameria Richmond. St. Andrews also collected more ground balls than the Lady Tigers, 23-9 led by five each from Richmond and senior midfielder Allie Aycock.

The Lady Knights were led offensively with six goals and an assist from Richmond as she had a seven-point day along with a caused turnover. The Lady Knights sophomore now has 32 goals on the season with seven assists for 39 points

Senior attacker Taylor Sehm-Crowley scored a career-high five goals along with an assist on 14 shots while winning three draws and collecting three ground balls. Aycockadded a goal and two assists with a draw control win on six shots.

Sehm-Crowley now has 23 goals and 26 points so far this season.

Freshman midfielder Danielle Butterworth added two goals and an assist with two ground balls and a caused turnover while fellow freshman Briana Minter added an assist and took four shots. Junior defender Shaqueena Kemp scored her first two goals of the season in the second half while also collecting two ground balls.

Others adding one goal each were Washington, junior defender Kelsey Houser, and freshman defender Savannah Yates. Yates’ goal was her first of the season while Houser’s was her third.

Junior goalie Mia Ortiz finished the game making just one save on two shots on goal as she was not needed to do too much on this day.

St. Andrews improves to 6-4 on the season and 3-3 in the AAC with the win while Brenau falls to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in the AAC.

The Lady Knights will remain at home today hosting non-conference opponent Hollins University (Va.) at 3 p.m.
