I was disappointed by your Saturday, Feb. 5, editorial praising those legislators supporting a bill to protect alleged “voting rights regardless of vaccination status.” Were these rights threatened, such a bill would make sense and deserve widespread support, but to the best of my knowledge, no one has mentioned or even hinted at such a proposal.

As I look at the names of those you present who are supporting this bill, what I see is a list of most of those legislators most vociferous in support of the vandals who trashed the Capitol on Jan. 6. Quite apparently, this bill is another attempt to distract the attention of people by making it appear as if these congressmen together with Senator Cruz are dedicated supporters of the Constitution and not incipient insurrectionists.

My hope is that we will not forget those who attempted to overthrow our duly conducted and virtually 100% clean 2020 election and vote them out of office at the first opportunity. In this process, we should stay vigilant to identify their attempts to distract us from their perfidy.

Thanking you for your attention, I remain …

Sincerely yours,
