LAURINBURG — Police have charged a Laurinburg woman with fraud following a traffic stop on Tuesday.

According to a Laurinburg Police Department report, Zulaykah Bilquis Lemon, 24, of 324 Carver St. was stopped for running a red light on Main Street.

Police say they then learned that Lemon was wanted for credit card fraud and theft. According to warrants, Lemon purchased items from Nic’s Pic Kwik and attempted to purchase items from Goody’s using a stolen credit card on Aug. 27.

Warrants were taken out for Lemon on Oct. 1.

Lemon is charged with financial card theft, obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain property by false pretense.

She is jailed under a $45,000 secured bond.

Lemon was convicted in 2014 of felony assault.
