Arrest

LAUREL HILL — Calvin Ray Frier, 65, of 15300 Fork St., was arrested Saturday and charged with felonious breaking and entering, larceny and possession of burglary tools, as well as misdemeanor vandalism, according to a sheriff’s report.

Deputy David E. Shankle reported that he responded to an alarm call at Morgan Company of Laurel Hill Inc., at the 10800 block of Andrew Jackson Highway, and found Frier inside. Frier had a screwdriver in his left rear pants pocket, Shankle reported. Frier was placed in the Scotland County jail without bond.

An incident report noted that $100 of wire and scrap metal had been recovered from the business. Damage to an alarm system was estimated at $50.

Break-ins

GIBSON — A resident of the 15600 block of Smith Road reported Sunday that someone took a handgun from inside her Chevy Truck, according to a sheriff’s report. The handgun was valued at $280.

GIBSON — A resident of the 13300 block of Old Marston Road reported Sunday that someone took a window air conditioner and various electronics from her home, according to a sheriff’s report. The items were valued at $1,800.

WAGRAM — A resident of the 29400 block of Turnpike Road reported Saturday that someone took stereo equipment from her home, according to a sheriff’s report. The electronics were valued at $300.

LAURINBURG — A resident of the 1170 block of Mary’s Road reported Saturday that someone took a lawnmower and a weedeater from a shed at her home, according to a sheriff’s report. The items were valued at $540.
