LAURINBURG —The Scotland High softball team came up just short of the Robeson County Slugfest championship after losing to East Columbus, 21-5, on Monday. A win would have advanced them to the championship for the second straight year. However, the Scots rebounded on Tuesday, defeating the St. Pauls Bulldogs 10-3, which earned them third place.
Kaleigh Leviner was named to the all-tournament team with a batting score of .600, two doubles, three runs scored and a team-leading 13 RBIs.
The Scots (9-7) will return to action on April 14 to take on Terry Sanford on the road at 6 p.m.
