The Laurinburg Branch of the National Association of University Women showed their appreciation to the Scotland County Health Department, Emergency Medical Services, Laurinburg Fire Departments, Sheriff’s Office and police departments and Scottish Pines Rehabilitation Center by presenting the employees with cards of gratitude for their service. Baked goods and chocolate candy treats were given to employees at the State Employees Credit Union, First Bank, the City of Laurinburg Crew, Scottish Pines, two local medical practices, and first responders in law enforcement and fire departments. Several senior citizens who are sheltering in their homes also received baked goods. As part of the observance of National Law Enforcement Week, pizza was delivered to all local law enforcement offices. According to NAUW President Dorothy Tyson, ‘We want to let these officers know that we recognize and appreciate all their hard work and dedication in keeping us safe. Our area is fortunate to have excellent heath care workers and other essential employees who keep our city and county operating effectively and efficiently. Our organization wanted to thank all of them in a tangible way.’
