In order protect citizens and staff, Mayor Jim Willis and Council have cancelled the Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic. In addition, since all City buildings are closed to the public and the City cannot adhere to the NC Open Meetings Law, Mayor Willis and Council felt the proper thing was to cancel the meeting.
All City board and committee meetings are cancelled until further notice. These include Board of Adjustment, Planning Board, and Crime and Drug Committee.
Since the COVID-19 situation is rapidly changing, we will keep our citizens updated as soon as possible.
