Break-in

LAURINBURG — Police responded to Lees Mill Road on Saturday after the residents brother drove by and noticed the front and back doors open. The brother looked inside and noticed that items were on the floor so he called police. Upon investigation officers found the front and back doors open, drawers open with items thrown on the floor and the smell of something burning. In the closet officers found a melted bag that had appeared to have been set on fire and caused damage to the walls. The incident is under investigation.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Duncan Street reported to the police department on Sunday that someone had kicked in the front door and stole a black wallet, a social security card, a debit card, a receipt book, checkbook, pictures and Jordan shoes totaling $170.

Larceny

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Adcock Drive reported to the sheriff’s office on Saturday that someone broke into his vehicle and stole his registration tag, sunglasses and auxiliary cord.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Jackson Street reported to the police department on Saturday that while parked on North Caledonia Road unknown persons had broken into her Chrysler 400 and stole oxycodone pills, a wallet, a phone charger and a Galaxy S9 totaling $633 along with $11 in currency.

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Second Avenue reported to the sheriff’s office on Saturday that someone had stolen lipstick, nail clippers, a dress and a wallet with credit cards in it from her motor vehicle.

LAURINBURG —Kids Campus daycare on Produce Market Road reported to the police department on Saturday that someone had taken assorted power-tools from the property. After watching surveillance cameras officers found a black male in a yellow shirt taking them and putting them in a nearby ditch where they were located. Officers are still looking for the suspect.

LAUREL HILL — FCC reported to the sheriff’s office on Saturday that someone had taken a hydrometer out of a vehicle on Old Wire Road.

LAURINBURG — A resident of South Turnpike Road reported to the police department on Saturday that unknown persons had broken into his Chevrolet Traverse and Chevrolet Malibu and stole a .380-caliber handgun and checkbook.

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Pine Street reported to the sheriff’s office that someone had stolen two laptops, a smartphone and a laptop bag with paperwork in it from his vehicle totaling $2,719.

Vandalism

LAURINBURG — A resident of West Scotsdale Road reported to the police department on Friday that there were two BB-holes in the window to his residence.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Duncan Street reported to the police department on Saturday that her Chrysler Town and Country van had its rear window busted out causing $300 damage.

LAURINBURG — A resident of McGirts Bridge Road reported to the police department on Sunday that their Honda Odyssey had $100 damage to the back passenger window from unknown causes.

LAURINBURG — Larry’s Auto-shop on North Main Street reported to the police department on Monday that someone had caused $75 damage by throwing a rock through the window of the roll-up garage door.

Arson

LAURINBURG — Police responded to Creedle Street on Sunday after a report of a fire. When fire crews got to the scene the residence was engulfed in flames and it was estimated to be a $50,000 loss. No one was living at the residence at the time. The residence next door suffered $12,000 damage from the heat of the fire. The case was turned over to the police department as it was believed to have been arson.

Arrest

LAURINBURG —Robert McNeil, 28, of Holly Lane was arrested Friday for failure to appear. He was given a $100 bond.

LAURINBURG — Chelsey McNeil, 30, of Crimson Road, Fayetteville, was arrested Friday for failure to appear. She was given a $400 bond.

LAURINBURG — Derrick Swindell, 40, of Turnpike Road was arrested Saturday for assault on a female and assault inflicting serious injuries. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Sheridan Shaw, 40, of Chestnut Street was arrested Saturday for trespassing. She was given a $1,000 bond.

LAURINBURG —Phillip Hendrix, 37, of Rosemary Lane was arrested Saturday for injury to personal property, breaking and entering and communicating threats. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Knowledge Williams, 18, of Center Street was arrested Sunday for failure to appears for possession of a handgun by a minor, concealed handgun and resisting a police officer. She was given a $100.

LAURINBURG — Matthew Horne, 35, of Myrtle Avenue in Hamlet, was arrested Sunday for several warrants out of Pitt County including larceny by employee, felony obtaining property by false pretenses, felony larceny and resisting public officer, along with a failure to appear out of Robeson County. He was given a $100,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Timothy Haywood, 19, of Plaza Road was arrested Sunday for public disturbance and second degree trespassing. He was released on a written promise to appear.

LAURINBURG — Erica Haywood, 30, of Willow Drive was arrested Sunday for simple assault, communicating threats and second degree trespassing. She was given a $2,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Amber Haywood, 25, of Plaza Road was arrested Sunday for second degree trespassing and stalking. She was given a $1,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Christian McKenzie, 27, of Willow Drive was arrested Sunday for assault on a female, communicating threats and second degree trespassing. He was given a $3,500 bond.
