LAUREL HILL — Breakfast for dinner anyone? Multitudes Church is hosting a breakfast fundraiser for its Hive Youth to go to Kentucky for a spiritual trip — but it’s not going to be the usual breakfast plate fundraiser.

The event will be held at 8901 Malloy Ave. from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and will offer a variety of breakfast foods for people to choose from.

Prices will vary, but attendees can order a variety of breakfast foods from a menu including pancakes, french toast, omelets, grits and bacon. The food will be fresh, being cooked by volunteers and served by the youth members.

According to Nikki Luquer, a youth leader at the church, the proceeds are going to help fund a youth trip to see the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum in Kentucky.

The Creation Museum walks through the beginning of the Bible and how God is a part of creation while the Ark Encounter is a life-size version of Noah’s Ark.

“It’s a spiritually gaining trip,” Luquer said. “It’s a good way to help them with their journey to walk with the lord.”

Luquer said that she had been thinking about doing the trip for several years and when she brought it up to the pastor, she was given the go-ahead to do the spiritual trip for the youth.

“The trip is going to cost a lot of money since we want to fly,” Luquer said. “But we want to raise money so any of the youth who want to go have the opportunity to do so.”

Luquer encourages the public to come and support the youth at Multitudes Church at the event as well as at a second fundraiser to help fund the trip.

The second fundraiser will be a chicken salad plate sale on June 20 around lunch with more information to be announced soon.
